What Drivers Say About KLG
"I've been driving for 7 years, but I've been an Owner Operator for less than a year. I had a lease-to-own before that didn't go the way I expected, so I'm pretty careful with what companies promise. With KLG, the numbers finally make sense — I can see what the truck is making, what I'm spending, and I actually get the fuel discount. That was a big difference for me."
"I've been driving for 7 years, the last 5 as an Owner Operator with KLG — since the company was just getting started. I've seen strong markets and difficult ones, but when things got tough, the company never left me on my own. My dispatcher listens to how I prefer to run, and I do my part to stay reliable. That mutual trust is the main reason I'm still here."
"I've been a company driver with KLG for almost 3 years. I've never been pushed into a schedule that didn't work for me, and my payments have always been on time. When I needed time or had something going on, we always worked it out. Now I'm preparing to get my own truck, and my plan is to stay right here with KLG as an Owner Operator."
"I've had my CDL for 18 years, and I've been an Owner Operator with KLG for almost 2 years. I get paid on time every Friday, without fail, and dispatch listens to how I want to run. I'm in the Chicago suburbs, so they plan my loads around getting my reset at home — I leave the truck at the KLG yard, and Andy has it ready for my next trip. After 18 years, that kind of respect matters."
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does KLG’s 10% cover?
Our 10% is an all-inclusive company fee. You keep 90% of every load.
It covers dispatch, factoring, IFTA administration, office/back-office support, and day-to-day support while you’re on the road.
There’s no separate dispatch fee, factoring fee, deposit, or escrow.
Any operating costs outside the 10% are shown separately and explained upfront — so you know exactly what you’re paying before you start.
What costs are separate from the 10%?
The 10% covers KLG’s company services. Your normal operating expenses remain separate.
Depending on your setup, those may include insurance, fuel, ELD/logbook services, trailer rental if you need one, tolls, maintenance, and other truck-related expenses.
We go over your exact costs with you before you start — no surprise deductions after your first settlement.
No deposit. No escrow. No hidden company fees.
What can I realistically gross per week?
Across five published KLG fleet reports covering July 14 through August 17, 2026, weekly average gross ranged from $8,824 to $10,768.
The simple average of those five weekly fleet results was $9,612. This is a company-wide, all-trailer fleet result — not a result from one trailer type.
Your individual result still depends on equipment, lanes, market conditions, availability, and how you choose to run.
Historical fleet results, not an income guarantee.
How does KLG calculate its reported results?
Each weekly fleet result combines all report-eligible driver records and all trailer types represented in that report.
- Average Weekly Gross: revenue before KLG’s 10% fee and the driver’s operating expenses.
- Loaded RPM: gross revenue divided by loaded miles.
- Total RPM: gross revenue divided by loaded plus empty miles, when that metric is shown.
- Average Deadhead: the weekly average empty miles shown in the source report.
KLG prepares anonymized source reports weekly. The recruiting-site benchmark is reviewed once a month, between the 1st and 15th, using completed reports.
The reporting period and calculation definitions stay visible here so the headline figures can be interpreted correctly.
Do you force dispatch, or can I choose my lanes?
No forced dispatch. You stay in control of your truck and the lanes you want to run.
Our dispatch team works with you based on your preferred regions, home-time needs, equipment, and current market conditions.
We’ll recommend the strongest available options and explain the numbers, but the final decision is yours.
You own the truck. You choose the direction. We help you make the most of it.
When and how do I get paid?
KLG pays weekly by direct deposit.
Every settlement clearly shows your delivered loads, gross revenue, KLG’s 10% fee, fuel, and any other applicable operating expenses or deductions.
You receive a detailed statement so you can see exactly where every dollar went — no guessing and no unexplained deductions.
Weekly settlements. Clear breakdowns. No surprises.
What equipment can I run with KLG? Do you offer trailers?
We work with Reefer, Dry Van, Open Deck, and Power Only owner operators.
Trailer availability depends on what we have open at the time. If a trailer is available, we can discuss rental options. If not, you can start Power Only and move into a trailer when one becomes available.
We’ll also help you choose the setup that makes the most sense for your lanes and current market conditions.
The goal is simple: get you moving with the right equipment, not make you wait unnecessarily.
What support do I get when I’m on the road?
You’re not left on your own after dispatch.
KLG provides day-to-day operational support while you’re on the road — including dispatch, load coordination, logbook monitoring, help with paperwork, detention issues, and communication when something goes wrong.
We also have access to physical support through our Park City operation and Big Truck Repair for maintenance, diagnostics, alignment, and repairs when needed.
And if something needs owner-level attention, you can talk directly with Roman — not just a call center.
Real support means having someone to call before a small problem becomes an expensive one.
Do I need to live in Illinois to work with KLG?
No. KLG works with qualified Owner Operators from any city or state in the United States.
Your home location does not disqualify you.
Illinois and the greater Chicago area can be especially convenient because KLG is based in Park City, Illinois, where drivers have access to company parking and shop support.
Wherever you live, talk directly with Roman about your equipment, preferred lanes, and home-time needs.
What do I need to qualify, and how quickly can I start?
If your truck, documents, and driving record are ready, onboarding can move quickly.
We generally look for at least 2 years of CDL-A experience, a solid driving record, and a good understanding of HOS and safe OTR operations.
We’ll review your documents, insurance requirements, equipment, and onboarding paperwork upfront so there are no last-minute surprises.
Once everything is approved and ready, we focus on getting you dispatched as soon as possible.
No unnecessary waiting. If you’re ready to work, we’re ready to move.
Who will I actually work with at KLG?
You work with a real team — not a faceless recruiting department.
Your day-to-day communication is with KLG dispatch and operations, and when something needs owner-level attention, you can speak directly with Roman.
We keep communication straightforward, decisions fast, and responsibilities clear.
You should always know who you’re working with and who to call when something matters.
